A social Group for 18-30 year olds in South Oxfordshire Please call Pamela on 01491 575575 if you think you’d like to join us!
We are a friendly group of 18-30 year olds who have a learning disability. We like meeting up with others in a group situation and enjoy being sociable and having a go at activities, some of which are new to us! We meet up approximately every 3 weeks. We go to many different venues across the local area. Sometimes by car, sometimes by minibus. Here’s an idea of some of the things we might do: Cinema Walks Theatre Bowling Eating out Rock Climbing Theme Parks Circus Swimming Concerts Charity work Go Karting We invite our parents/carers to join us for at least one outing a year so we can have fun together. We also encourage carers/family to meet up with each other once every 6 months. It may be possible that a smaller group of young people might get the chance of an overnight stay at some point! We have taken small groups to Centre Parcs recently, which was great fun! Would you like to join us? If you are aged 18-30, have a learning disability and live in South Oxfordshire we would welcome you. There will be staff and volunteers, usually at a ratio of 5:1, depending on the needs of those that attend. If you need more help than this, then you will need to bring a carer or support worker with you. You will need to pay for yourself on the meetings when we will do things like bowling, meeting at a café, going to a pub, or visiting a sports centre for example. Some of our sessions are subsidised, so we don’t always ask for the full cost of a session to be paid by you. You would need to be able to organise transport to an agreed meeting point, which wouldn’t be further than 15 miles from your home. If you would find the money side of things difficult, then you can talk to us in confidence. If you would like to come and meet with us, please call Pamela on 01491 575575 to chat about it further and share information.
