The 27th January, 2011 was a very important day at our school.Students had been very excited from early morning.
At 8 o’clock the oldest studentslayed the tables with different sweets.
Every stand was representing different English country(Canada, New Zeland, Australia, The United States, England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland)
The sweets were tasty so students wanted to eat various desserts, for example: a lemon pie, an apple pie, a jelly with fruit, a cake with jelly and a lot of biscuits.
The biscuits had many different shapes: stars, flowers or hearts.
All of the dishes were a part of national quisine of English-speaking countries. Everybody was hungry and willing. Beautiful stands, music and smell of biscuits were encouraging to buy something. The prices were very low and the queues were very long!
The main purpose was to encourage students to learn English language and culture. Anyone who bought the biscuit got a card with interesting facts about one of the English-speaking country.
Students could test their knowledge about the countries during a quiz.
The second aim was to collect as much money as posstable. We got 912,20zł. Students who were representing Canada collected the most.
We spent the money on 28th March, 2011. We went to a cinema, where watched a very interesting film „Sala Samobójców”. The film was most instructive and poignant. The film showed us how to live.
We had a great time. We hope that the project will continue.
