FSTopo Current Activities • Phase I Implemented • Uses CPS as the edit system • Web based product delivery hosted by ESRI • http://mapmaker.esri.com/fstopo • User ID: fstopo • Password: maps • Generates a layered PDF
FSTopo Database • FS wide data collection effort scheduled for completion end FY09 • Include contours, polygons, annotation • Updates/revisions to data ongoing • Micro-update: small area, limited features • Medium update: data theme, larger area • Full update: traditional monoscopic revision
New Geotiff Product • Geographically referenced tiff files from FSTopo database • Produced using ESRI PLTS MPS Atlas software • Data updates will be reflected in the geotiff product • USGS Digital Raster Graphics and PBS Softcopy will not contain any new updates
FSTopo Hosting DB CPS Production FSTopo Staging Current Production GSTC ESRI Web Hosting • Data updates: • Micro • Medium • Full Data crosswalked from CPS schema to FSTopo schema. Geotiffs created here. Copy of FSTopo Staging database. PDFs created here.
Program and Dissemination • Production starting soon with all FS area of interest quadrangles complete in one year. • Start in areas with 100% data coverage in all Regions. • Geotiffs will be added as a new service in the Maps folder on Image Server for viewing and using
Why create them? • Number one question since the announcement of the FSTopo website: • “That’s a great pdf but how can I use it in ArcMap?”
