  1. Places to see in and around Muktinath Known as one of the critical holy destinations for Hindus and Buddhists alike, Muktinath Temple is located in the Mustang Valley of Nepal. Rich in ancient history, the Muktinath temple complex is enlisted as one of the UNESCO world heritage sites. Muktinath temple complex has some beautiful and mysterious places within walking distance that are often explored as you walk around the temple. Some iconic hotspots located in the temple complex includes Jwalamai temple, Muktidhara, Swami Narayan, Mukti Kunda, Mharme Lah Khang Gompa, Shaligrama etc. Besides the ancient Vishnu Temple Complex, Muktinath also has some fascinating and beautiful places within a few miles that are worth exploring. This includes Jomsom Visiting Muktinath without exploring Jomsom is not a great idea. Home to some of the best and most unique spots, Jomsom is a complete holiday package in itself. Situated in the centre of Kaligandaki Valley of the Western part of Nepal, Jomsom is a tiny but stunning city. It sits right at the base of Mount Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri, thus giving it a beautiful panoramic backdrop. Rupse Waterfall located near Jomsom – Beni Highway, Jomsom View Tower, Mustang Eco museum, Leopard cave, Dhumba Lake, Tibetan Culture market etc. being among the most explored places in Jomsom. Marpha Known as the Apple capital of Nepal, Marpha is situated in the Lower Mustang Valley. With a unique heritage and an ancient architectural backdrop, Marpha is one of the most beautiful places in Nepal. The Tibetan Settlement of Chhairo is a monastery that is over 3oo yrs old and has been a part of the Nepalese – Tibetan cultural confluence for ages. The 30-minute walk from Jomsom to Marpha is laid out with gravel walkway and surrounded by the picturesque Himalayan Backdrop. The unique feature of this small town is wealth is measured in how big is your woodpile on the terrace rather than your bank balance. Kagbeni Home to the Thakali Culture, Kagbeni is located initially close to Jomsom. Since this tiny village falls on route Muktinath temple, it is home to numerous lodges and resting places. Situated on the bank of Kali Gandaki River on one side and Mt Dhaulagiri, on the other hand, it is a beautiful sight to behold.

  2. Cold, desert with terrace farming at places gives it a look that cannot be described in words. It is believed that Kagbeni is one of the best places to rejuvenate and refresh your mind. The Red Monastery, located at the centre of this tiny village, is the most notable aspect of Kagbeni. Besides that the Kagchode Thubten Sampheling Gompa is a 500 yr old monastery situated in this village also Sarangkot Located about 8 miles from the city of Pokhara, Sarangkot is world-famous for Paragliding and other such adventure sports. Being situated in the Annapurna Valley of Mount Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri, this small town has beautiful scenery surrounding it. The ruined fort of Kashkikot is just an hr walk from Sarangkot. It is one of those spooky yet gorgeous remnants of the historical past of Nepal. This hilly town is lined with fields of Barley, Wheat, Corn and Buckwheat in shape of the terrace that is spectacular to look at from an aerial view as you paraglide over the tiny town. Tansen If you want to truly explore the culture of Nepal and stay with them at their home, there is no better place than Tansen. Located in Palpa district near Pokhara, Tansen is the home to Newari and Magar Culture of Nepal. Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha is just at a walkable distance from the town, thus making it an outstanding destination to visit for the Buddhists. Some of the places to visit in Tansen include Tansen Durbar, Rani mahal, Sitalpati, Buddha Stupa, Tudikhel, Guffa Dada Dumre among a few more.
