  5. Education options • Workshop series • Newsletters • Exhibits • Conferences • One on one sessions • Training manual • Satellite downlink programs

  6. Collaborations • Rely on the experts to assist • Invitation to contract for services • Include providers in planning programs • exhibits and programs at professional conferences • FCS Program sub-committee

  7. Sources of funding • Registration fees for all programs • Grant funds from Social Services $150,000 over 6 years • Svoboda Award $ used for marketing

  8. What Does This Means • More than 50 new family child care providers earning a decent wage • Standardized procedure for recruiting and training providers • Extension FCS Agents known throughout region as “the” education resource for child-care providers • children are cared for in safe, nurturing environments

  9. Future plans • Emphasize education of clients/parents to select quality child-care • Work with centers to promote continuing education among staff • Promote our programs and outcomes with public policy makers • Building a professional image and effective business marketing
