Patty Hill’s Kindergarten Vision: 1. The most essential purpose is “the minister of the nature and needs of children from the ages of 4 to 6 years old”. 2. Kindergarten teachers have two responsibilities and they are to see the connection of their work to the work of the first grade curriculum and lay the foundation that the students need “without sacrificing the right of the kindergarten child to free, full development on their own”. 3. The last function is to connect the kindergarten to their home, so there is a smaller distance between the two, and support the learning that happen in the home and in the classroom.
