Amusement Park History The first american amusement park was in 1893 at the Chicago World’s Fair. They became extremely popular with many rides. Coney Island has three amusement parks Steeplechase Park, Luna Park, and Dreamland. But during the Great Depression and World War Two, the amusement park industry declined. During the 1950’s, old amusement parks were closed or burned down. Some amusement parks were destroyed to put down suburban houses. Today, they are more popular than ever. P.V

Cedar Point Sandusky, Ohio History People throughout the entire world knew about Cedar Point. It's the number one rated amusement park on the planet. It's also the second oldest amusement park in North America. With a history dating back to 1870, the classic amusement park and resort on the shore of Lake Erie you can see all the resorts and rides on the beach of Lake Erie Prior to 1870 the Cedar Point Peninsula was mainly used for fishing and hunting. However, that all changed with a surprise in the local newspaper in 1867 calling on “some enterprising person” to utilize the special beach on the lake side of Cedar Point. In the summer of 1870, local businessperson Louis Zistel opened a small beer garden, bathhouse and dance floor on the peninsula. He would bring guests over to Cedar Point from the BathHouse and the dance floor on his steamboat for a price of 25 cents each person. JS

When it was made, it was the fastest in world, scariest in the world, and biggest drop in the world. Now it is the biggest drop, second fastest, and second scariest.
Dorney Park Dorney Park is in Allentown, PA. It opened in 1884. Dorney Park also has Wildwater Kingdom next to it. Some of its rides are, Possessed, Hydra, Steel Force, and Talon. Its sister is Cedar Point. P.V
Hershey Park Hershey Park started life in 1907. It is now one of the most popular amusement parks in the country. It has many rides. One of them is Fahrenheit, which includes a straight-up ride to the top and a straight-down ride to the bottom. Hershey Park is a very interesting place. P.V
What an amusement park includes Roller coasters are most popular than other rides. Ferris wheels are also popular. They are not as popular as roller coasters. Amusement parks also include game stations, mostly balloon popping with darts. Finally, there are local amusement park rides. P.V

Roller Coaster Flips Roller Coaster Flips were first made when there were steel roller coasters. Steel Roller coasters allow more of a grip to the cart which allows them to go upside down and faster!
Roller Coasters Roller coasters are cars connected to each other. They then are placed on a track. Roller coasters have wheels on the top or the bottom. At the start of a button or a switch, the thing goes at a high speed. P.V
