  1. YY fares – what are they Dallas, Texas October 2017

  2. Called as IATA fares • Used forpassengertravel on interline basis • CreatingfaresforShip‘s Crews, Student Fares, ReducedfaresforTourConductors • Used for Base Amountselection in revenueaccountingpurposes

  3. Airlinesrefer to IATA (YY) fares in interline andotheragreements • In addition – IATA (YY) rules are also base rulesfor ZED/MIBA fares – right? • YY fares are on mileagebasis – no routingdetermined, anycarriercanuse

  4. YY fares are fullyrefundablefares, • YY fares are fullychangeaglefares, • YY fareshas no salesrestrictions, • no travelrestrictions, • anycarriercanuse,

  5. How to diferentiateRestricted/UnrestrictedFares RestrictedFaresare mostlycarrierfareswithallpossiblerestrictions, like: • Travel period • Salesallowedforcertainagentyonly • On specific market only or some markets are excluded • Are mostenonrefundable, changes are forpenalties

  6. FTC-s which are validforrestrictedfares are: RR-premium first restricted/FR– first restricted/ JR-premium business restricted/BR – business class restricted/ WR– premium economy restricted/ ER- economy restricted/ ERS,ERT– 2nd,3rd economy restricted Exampleofhowandwherewefind FTC LN FARE BASIS    OW   EUR  RT   B PEN  DATES/DAYS   AP MIN MAX R 01 LKXNCDEW                 730 L NRF    -      234+90+ 6+ 12M R                                       S28AUG  29OCT              FCL: LKXNCDEW  TRF:   1 RULE: W8WW BK:  L                        PTC: ADT-ADULT              FTC: XAN-NON REFUNDABLE APEX

  7. Unrestrictedfares are mostly YY faresandCarrier normal fares : • Do not restricttravel period • Do not restrictflights • Do not restrictsales • Validforallpassengers • Refundandchanges are possible, all is free

  8. FTC-s which are validforrestrictedfares are: RU - premium first unrestricted/ FU– First Class unr./ JU – premium business unr/ BU – business class unr / BS,BT– 2nd,3rd level business class unr/ WU – premium economy unr / EU– economy unr/ES,ET – 2nd,3rd level economy unrestricted.

  9. ID50 ID50 – carriers can give ID50 from promo fares, but the trick is – then the fare conditions must follow the original fare rules. That’s why we are talking about unrestricted fares – ZED & ID fares do not have any restrictions.

  10. Take a look at ISTA, page 18 B.3.g.ii – here is mentioned  - • the booking, if made in the CRS of the Authorizing or Ticketing Airline, must have been made strictly in accordance with the Transporting Airline’s published rules as advised to the Authorizing Airline; and • The passenger has checked-in strictly in accordance with the TransportingAirline’s published rules. and

  11. In Appendix Fares – Section D.3.a which is says: »ID50/IDMH Duty Travel or Cres Deadheading  >  Members may bilaterally agree to a 50% discount off the Transporting Airline's lowest applicable unrestricted or IDMH zonal fare for confirmed space travel in business  or economy class« So – if the Transporting Airline does not have an unrestricted economy fare at all?Whatthen? Forexample, BT does not have. They use on TLLRIX only BU/ER/ERU & EOU.

  12. We cannot add to ISTA any RBD because RBD structure and hierarchy is unique for every carrier. Some of them operate with incomplete structure (for example economy class without business class, structure without first class etc). What we can do is already mentioned in ista appendix concurrence form, for example Annex E -there can airlines bilaterally conclude all conditions for ID50/ID00 etc

  13. What we can do is: • 1)mention unrestricted fares (or all these FTC-s like IATA mentioned  - all above in case some carrier do not have unrestricted FTC-s in use) as a base for ID50 fares in ISTA. The idea is to refer to rules – no restrictions. Fare levels or RBDs we cannot determine – we cannot say W/E class– for EE it is economy excursion, for you E does not exist at all- IATA reso 728 says W/E – are premium economy class - you understand what I mean.. • Or • 2) Delete ID50 andonlyuse IDMH fares • ???????????????

  14. Thanks
