  3. Otalgia:pain in the ear either due to pathology in the earor referred from other remote area.

  4. Barotrauma: trauma in the middle ear due to rapid and marked decrease of middle ear pressure bellow atmospheric pressure.

  5. pathogenesis: 1- at the sea level: the atmospheric pressure = zero 2- During ascent: out pr become more decreased, the ear try to escape air through the ET to decrease the Pr to equalize both sides. 3- During descent: the atmospheric pr rapidly increased, in this time the ET must open to allow air to enter the ME , which will increase the Pr. Failure to open ET, will lead to Barotrauma

  6. Causes nasal Obstruction • Allergic: AR • Nasopharyngeal mass : Adenoid. • Nasal trauma. • Hypertrophy of inferior turbinates. • Nasal polyposis. • DNS: If S – shaped. • Congenital : as Bilateral choanalatresia ( Emergency) • Tumors.

  10. STRIDOR Difficult noisy breathing due to partial obstruction of the airway.

  11. Treatment:- Stridor is a symptom not a disease. Once the diagnosis has been made , treatment of exact cause can be planned Mild & moderate:stridor need medical treatment according to cause. Mod. Stridor need admission and observation. sever stridor: intubation or surgical intervention
