  20. THREATS for M(I)L inCroatia! • No M(I)L policy at all. Whydidweignore AVMSD? • PoorMIL manualsandtrainingmaterials. • Nolegal definition of media education. • No coordinationbetweenministries. • No official inter-ministerial body or committee. • No law that designates a clear authority to oversee media education. • No responsibilityofpublicinstitutioninrelation to MIL programs. • LLL MIL programs?

New approach • Wecannotpromoteandimplement MIL without ICT sector. • It’s notwise to promotejust one supplier • NGO’s are stillthebestpromotersof MIL in Croatia. • Politicians: no literacy on MIL. • Politicalpartieshavelow MIL capacityandawareness! • Weneed „grandcoalition” for MIL. • MIL as a partof „acquiscommunautaire”? • Computerscience/informatics as a optionalsubject?

E). • Todaynotonlythere is no budget, but there is also no Department… • Whenweequip all ourschoolswith IT equipmentwewillbein a position to haveinformatics as a newcompulsorysubject.” MinisterofScience, Educationand Sport, prof.dr.sc.
