Engineering Design BoostingWi-fi Signal Tyler Craig-Kaleb Toller IET 120, Spring 2014
Problem A wi-fi signal has to go through three stories of a house, that way those at the bottom floor can play games. However, others still have to be able to use Wi-Fi effectively as well.
Solution • To remedy this, a Wi-Fi antenna was adjusted to the router, this would allow us to direct the Wi-Fi signal (the antenna on the router)
Testing & Results • While the router antenna did boost the Wi-Fi signal, it wasn’t as much as we hoped, back to the drawing board, or soldering board. ( Wi-Fi signal on the Xbox with router antenna)
New Solution, Better Results • Along with the router antenna, a better antenna was soldered onto the Xbox wireless adaptor. This makes it easier for the Xbox to pick up the signal, which after the new antenna, the signal reads four bars (Xbox has four bars) (the new antenna)
