  2. 5 Stages STAGE 1: Aim (1): Familiarisation with the host organisation, it’s processes and the specific areas to be benchmarked Action: Analysis of hard data and desk research Analysis based on interviews with representative sample of relevant employees Aim (2): Design the Benchmark Template Action: Agree the key critical measures and key indicators to be addressed, and their definitions

Sample Methodology - 5 Stages STAGE 2: Aim (1): Define the model for Benchmarking Action: Agree the criteria for selecting appropriate benchmark partner organisations Aim (2): Establish a pool of potential Benchmark Organisations Action: Compile information and data on a number of organisations through desk research and knowledge Aim (3): Select the preferred benchmark organisations Action: Based on criteria and analysis of data, agree sample.

Sample Methodology - 5 Stages STAGE 3: Aim (1): Arrange the visits to the selected partner organisations Action: Establish a network of contacts Make contact by the most appropriate means Request a benchmarking visit Aim (2): Confirmation of visit participants, dates & times Action: Nominate individuals to participate Aim (3): Prepare the visiting participants for the visits Action: Provide workshop for participants Aim (4): Prepare partner benchmark organisations for visit Action: Send document in advance

Benchmarking Project Identify what benchmarking can achieve Identify which processes can be benchmarked Identify key critical indicators and measures Identify potential benchmark partner organisations Provide workshops and training for benchmarking Facilitate visits / questionnaires / workshops / seminars Translate information and data into proposals
