Matthew 28: 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.” • Hebrews 2:9 But we do see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while, now crownedwithglory and honour because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.

Who then is a disciple? • A disciple is one who follows the teachings or doctrines of a person whom he or she considers to be a master or authority
John 2:23-25 • 23 Now while he was in Jerusalem at the Passover Festival, many people saw the signs he was performing and believed in his name.[a]24 But Jesus would not entrust himself to them, for he knew all people. 25 He did not need any testimony about mankind, for he knew what was in each person.
Luke 9:57-62 • 57 As they were walking along the road, a man said to him, “I will follow you wherever you go.” 58Jesus replied, “Foxes have dens and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.” 59He said to another man, “Follow me.” But he replied, “Lord, first let me go and bury my father.” 60Jesus said to him, “Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and proclaim the kingdom of God.” 61Still another said, “I will follow you, Lord; but first let me go back and say goodbye to my family.” 62Jesus replied, “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.”
Baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
To become a child of God I must Romans 3:23 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Romans 6:23 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
To become a child of God I must Romans 5:8 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
To become a child of God I must 2Corinthians 5:21 21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
To become a child of God I must • John 3:16 • 16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
To become a child of God I must • John 1:12 • 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God
Romans 8:5-8 • 5 Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. 6 The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. 7 The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. 8 Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God.
Romans 6:4-6 • 4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. • 5 For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his. 6 For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with,[a] that we should no longer be slaves to sin—
And teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. • Romans 12:1-2 • Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
1John 5:18 18 We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the One who was born of God keeps them safe, and the evil one cannot harm them. • John 13:35 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
