If you are an ePreneur just like me, and you want to have to boost your social presence online for your business, you might have already joined social networking sites such as Facebook, and Twitter to do so. But don’t you know that there is a social networking site catered especially for ePreneurs? Yes – LinkedIn. Most ePreneurs seemed to be daunted with the thought of signing up on LinkedIn. Perhaps because they feel that that it is only for established online entrepreneurs and big time business owners. But actually, it is for everyone.

How to Increase your Social Presence with LinkedIn With LinkedIn, you will be able to do networking, find and hire someone for your business, gather sales leads, keep updated and join the conversation on industry news, and if you looking for a job, you can also utilize LinkedIn to go look for a job. Joining LinkedIn and getting started is never hard. You just have to get to know the basics and you are good to go. Here are the things you need to do to get started with LinkedIn.

  4. 1.Fill up all the necessary details for you and your business An incomplete profile will make you look very unprofessional and might turn off potential business connections. So make the time to provide all the information about you and your business, putting on top the most vital information so people won’t miss it when they visit your LinkedIn page.

  5. 2. Share work samples on the “Pages" section This is an opportunity to show off your expertise. In this section, include the link to your website, or your blog, your achievements – anything that will tell everyone that will visit your page that you are an authority on your niche.

  6. 3. Write a call-to-action on “Summary” section Don’t expect people to read your mind.If you want them to go check out you website, tell them clearly via this Summary section. If you want them to sign up to your email list, ask them to do so via this page. Just write a clear call to action on this summary section.

  7. 4. Add a profile photo A faceless profile will most likely not get any profile visits at all. So upload a photo of yourself on your LinkedIn page – and make sure that what you will upload is a picture of yourself looking professional.

  8. 5. Connect with LinkedIn Users When you have set your profile completely, it is time to connect with people on LinkedIn. But when you send connection requests, make sure that your messages are personalized and not just the LinkedIn template. Doing such will increase the chance that your connection request will be granted as people will see that you are sincere in connecting with him/her. Also, you should participate on LinkedIn group discussions. This is a great way to further connect with LinkedIn users who the same goals and interest that you have. Also this is a great way to build your credibility and authority among people on LinkedIn.

  9. 6. Be consistently active You can’t just create a LinkedIn account and just leave it there, and wait for people to connect with you. You won’t get anyone to connect with you if you do not update your profile. So post consistently on LinkedIn. Doing such will not only increase the people visiting your page. It will also increase your page’s SEO which consequently leads to increased exposure online.
