MRSA epidemic in hospitals • a bacterial infection commonly contracted in hospitals and long-term care centers (nursing homes). • Attacks weak immune systems and eventually infects all of the internal organs and entire body.
MRSA • In 2005 94,360 people contracted MRSA and 18,650 of those people died (1 in 5) • Very easily transmitted
Killer Paint • New nanotechnology paint enriched with Titanium Dioxide destroys disease and dirt on the surface when exposed to fluorescent lights • Originally the paint was created to control the spread of MRSA
Titanium Dioxide • A chemical compound used in every day products such as: • Paints • Coatings • Inks • Foods • Medicines • Toothpastes Skim Milk has added Titanium Dioxide to make it appear whiter.

Controversy of Titanium Dioxide • People are increasingly concerned and opposed to using Titanium Dioxide • Some say it could be considered a carcinogen to humans, after it caused small tumors in rats (after hours of inhalation)
In Conclusion… • Evidence of this paint being harmful to humans is not sufficient • This paint could ultimately save thousands of lives every year.
