[VO2O2/2]- [VO2O2/2F2]3- Ag+ cations Ag4V2O6F2 Solid State Oxide FluoridesKenneth R. Poeppelmeier, Northwestern University, DMR-0312136 • The Ag4V2O6F2 structure incorporates high amounts of silver per formula unit (compared to the current industry standard), which makes it a potentially superior cathode material for primary Li-batteries. • Octahedral [VO2O2/2F2]3- and tetrahedral [VO2O2/2]- units connect to form infinite chains. Ag+ cations are located between the chains. • Electrochemical testing of Ag4V2O6F2 in collaboration with Argonne National Laboratory (ANL) has led to a US Patent Disclosure.
