Mission: • To grow a network promoting collaboration and knowledge exchange between Registered Kinesiologists, Academic Researchers and students, insurance providers, government stakeholders, and other regulated health professionals providing preventative and primary care to Ontarians.
Mission: • To use the network as a mechanism to generate and share new knowledge and evidence to: • Enhance the integration/utilization of practicing Registered Kinesiologist’s within the health delivery system • Describe the efficacy and cost-effectiveness of Kinesiologist delivered programming • Promote continuous quality improvement among Registered Kinesiologist’s • Improve and sustaining the health of Ontarians
2019 Key Objectives: • Compile existing best practice guidelines and existing client/patient assessment tools to populate the network’s knowledge bank • Explore and select a web platform to host knowledge bank resources • Initiate first PBRN driven research project to explore the integration/utilization of practicing Registered Kinesiologist’s within Family Health Teams in Ontario
2018 Financial Statement Review • Update by OKA Secretary/Treasurer • Steve Fischer, PhD, R.Kin, CCPE
Main points of interest: • 1: Stable membership revenue year-over-year, small decrease in revenue from education • 2: Increased operating expenses due to expanded board (both in number and geographical representation) and attendance at CLIHIA in Newfoundland • 3: 2019 budget focused on increasing member benefits including a new website and integrated membership management software and the launch of KEEN – the go to resource for evidence based practice in Kinesiology
Motion to approve the 2018 Financial Statement as presented for the year ending December 31, 2018
Each year the membership is required to approve the appointment of the auditor at the Annual General Meeting. • R&C Chartered Accountants (formerly Roetsch & Company) has consistently delivered the financial statement in accordance with the timelines and expectations that the Board has set for them. • The Board of Directors is recommending the appointment of R&C Chartered Accountants as the association’s financial auditor.
Motion to appoint R&C Chartered Accountants as the OKA Auditor for the year ending December 31, 2019
