Millennium Development Goals • The organization that is associated with education and the United Nations is UNESCO. • There are 8 Millennium Development Goals. • Eradicate Extreme Poverty and Hunger • Achieve Universal Primary Education • Promote Gender Equality and Empower Women • Reduce Child Mortality • Improve Maternal Health • Combat HIV/AIDS, Malaria and other Diseases • Ensure Environmental Sustainability • Develop a Global Partnership for Development • Why do you think each one of these is a MDG? What makes each one important?

  3. Subtopic and Millennium Development Goals • This year our subtopic is: The role of Arts Education inside and outside the school. How to use principles and practices of Arts to contribute to a better world. • Arts are more than what you learn in plástica. • For this class “arts” includes, artisan crafts, literature, poetry, theater, music, dance, visual arts, etc.
