  3. Introduction Botulinum toxin is a neurotoxinprotein produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. It is one of the most poisonous naturally occurring substances in the world. Though it is highly toxic, it is used in minute doses both to treat painful muscle spasms, and as a cosmetic treatment.

Commercialization • Commercialization Plan of Botox: • Direct sales to general practitioners in clinics and medical centres, beauty salons and spas. • Marketing and advertising in the clinics and beauty salons, i.e. posters, informative pamphlets, integration of the products into their marketing plans. • Reasons: • To make it more accessible to middle-aged men and women who may find it more troublesome to do it in hospitals. • To create awareness that the procedure is relatively fast, simple, with hardly any side effects. • Increased revenue for clinics and beauty salons.
