Web 3.0 Casey Tyler
Web 2.0 vs. Web 3.0 • Web 2.0 includes interaction between people • Youtube • Amazon • Facebook • Blogs • Web 3.0 allows people to interact with information
…Continued • Web 2.0 searches return information that include keywords within the response • Longer process because the user has to filter through results for relevant information • Web 3.0 searches will return information based on specific information and context sought by the user • Shorter process because the search will return only relevant information • User can ask specific questions and receive related results • Desired content is learned based on the search history of the user • Different users might receive different results from the same search based on their unique search history
Web 3.0 Applied • A relevant example would be Pandora • Pandora learns the music preferences of the user and tailors music selection based on those preferences • However, the scope of Web 3.0 is much broader than just music, covering all of the Internet • iGoogle could also be thought of as a Web 3.0 application, as it personalizes and customizes the web page of the user based on recent activity
Evolution of Web and iGoogle • Evolution of Web • iGoogle
