Himala-yas • The Himalayas are a mountain chain located at the border of China, India and Nepal. • They are 2,400 KM long, with an average altitude of over 6,000 M. • Amongst the chain is Mount Everest - the highest place on the earth.
Wuyue (五岳), “Five Big Moun-tains” • The Wuyue mountains consist of Taishan (泰山), Hengshan (恒山), Huashan (华山), Hengshan (衡山) and Songshan (嵩山). • Wuyue, especially Taishan, are famous for having been used as a special location for emperors to pray to the sky.
