  6. Compound adjectives A 15-year-old child = A child who is 15 years old A blue-eyed girl = A girl who has blue eyes. Here is a rather far-fetched description of a person starting from the head down: Marty is an easy-going, warm-hearted, curly haired, green-eyed, sun-tanned, rosy-cheeked, thin-lipped, broad-shouldered, left-handed, slim-hipped, long-legged, flat –footed, 19-year-old young man. Marty has curly hair, green eyes, a sun tan, rosy cheeks, thin lips, broad shoulders, slim hips, long legs and flat feet. He is left-handed and 19 years old.
