Completed contextual analysis of Kerrang and Classic Rock magazines, focusing on Male Gaze, Stereotypes and Representation, and Hierarchy of Needs theories. Examined how these magazines influence design choices. Through secondary research, identified aims, target audience, and appeal factors to create a successful music magazine integrating these theories. Enhance understanding of magazine appeal and innovate unique features for originality and success.

  2. What?! I have completed a contextual analysis of two rock magazine’s and I have identifies their uses of the three theories, Laura Mulvey’s 1975 Male Gaze, Branston and Staffords 2010 Stereotypes and Representation and also Maslow’s 1954 Hierarchy of Needs.I have also looked at how these magazine could influence my choices when designing and creating my own music magazine.

  3. How?! I have used my skills to gather some secondary research about the two music magazines, Kerrang and Classic Rock magazine, to help me understand their aims and identify their target audience, through the knowledge I acquired through my research I looked each magazine and analyzed the features and aspects of the magazines and looked at how they appeal to their audience and why.I also look at the uses of the three theories to see how I myself could inturpretate these theories into my own magazine to make it successful.

  4. WHY?! By completing the contextual analysis’s and looking at the three different theories within the magazine’s I can now go on to create my magazine with a secure understanding of what it is about magazine’s that will appeal to my audience and more importantly why it appeals to them; with this knowledge I can even go on to innovate some of my own magazine features that allow my magazine to be original and successful.
