Neighbourhood Planning. What is a neighbourhood plan? A community-led initiative giving local communities power to prepare a planning document. It will be used in deciding planning applications for a local area. It cannot promote less development than the Local Plan.

We have 18 designated neighbourhood areas: • Bassingbourn-cum-Kneesworth • Cottenham • Foxton • Gamlingay • Great Abington Former Land Settlement Association Estate (only part of parish) • Histon and Impington (part of parish excluded) • Linton and Hildersham (joint designation) • Melbourn • Pampisford • Stapleford and Great Shelford (joint designation) • Swavesey • Thriplow • Waterbeach • West Wickham • Whittlesford
Plan Progress of Parishes • Fulbourn ,Sawston and Babraham parishes have recently had their neighbourhood areas designated • Many parishes are still considering issues, options and gathering evidence • Great Abington LSA has just had a successful examination and a referendum is proposed for December 2018. • Formal pre-submission consultation stage – 6 week consultation by local community • Cottenham • Histon & Impington
