  2. Overseas Travel • Monthly – up to reference period June 2010 • Published detailed country level data • Changed to quarterly release from Q32010 onwards- calendar quarter only • Reduced the level of detail published- fewer individual countries

  3. Changed to rolling 3 month release • First period : May – July 2011 • Same level of detail as in calendar quarter releases • Still publish calendar quarter data in release • Timeliness - usually publish within 28 days of end of reference month

  4. Additional data published • From Overseas Travel Release Oct – Dec 2013 onwards • Annual data from 2010 onwards- trips to Ireland • New country level data for Belgium, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Austria, Poland, Switzerland, USA and Canada • New data for Africa, Central, South & Other Americas and Asia & Middle East

  5. Household Travel Survey (HTS) • Traditionally- quarterly data published • 2010, 2011- annual data only published • 2012 onwards– quarterly and annual data published • Published Q42013 data – 28/4/2014 • Publish Q12014 data – 30/6/2014 • Improvement in timeliness (Q12014 - 91 days)

HTS Domestic Travel- extra tables • Extra tables published from Q22013 onwards • Annual data from 2010 onwards • Table 1b – Trips and nights by region visited by 8 NUTS3 regions • Table 5a – Trips and nights by region of residence by 8 NUTS3 regions • Table 8a – Expenditure by region visited by 8 NUTS3 regions

  7. HTS Domestic travel – extra table • Extra table published from Q42013 • Annual data – from 2010 onwards • Table 1c – Trips and nights by main county visited- county level data shown above certain threshold, counties amalgamated below this threshold

Outbound travel – extra data • Table 9c – Trips and nights data for Belgium, Netherlands and Poland- annual data- published from Q22013 onwards • Table 16 – New table – quarterly and annual data- published from Q12013 onwards • Table 16 – Expenditure by country/region visited- data for France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Great Britain, Northern Ireland, Other Europe, North America, Asia & Middle East, and All other areas

  9. PCI – Update • Traditionally- quarterly data published • 2010, 2011 - annual data only published • 2012 – annual data published but included a quarterly breakdown for some tables • 2013 onwards– data published quarterly • Major improvements in timeliness – published Q12014 within 73 days of the end of the reference period

PCI – Additional tables – Trips to Ireland • 2012 – Data for France, Germany, Italy and Australia & New Zealand published • 2012 - Additional tables showing both average length of stay and expenditure by area of residence by reason for journey • Q42013 – Annual tables created for those tables which previously didn’t show annual data.
