The first phase, immobile factors of production, was a time period from prior to World War I to the 1970s when raw materials, parts, and products were less mobile (Rodrigue, 2017). The second phase, mobility of factors of production, from the 1980s, saw the increase in movement of materials, including capital, and international trade becoming possible due to trade rule framework by the World Trade Organization (Rodrigue, 2017).
