Project Objectives • To design and install: • 12 x multimedia classrooms • 2 x e-learning Laboratories • Solar Energy panels to drive the network • To develop courses and programs for joint education between students in Sichuan and Hong Kong through the on-line distance learning system. • To produce a video documentary and a publication to as a report of the project. • To provide a learning opportunity for HKU students to learn cross discipline skills and knowledge through servicing.
Location of the school • North East of ChengDu (around 1½ hrs travelling)

Team A: Renewable Energy System Team • To design and install solar energy panels on the roof-top of the school • Team Leader: Dr. Alfred Yu
Team B: Multimedia Classrooms Team • To design and install 12 multimedia classrooms in the school • Team Leader: Dr. Philip Pong
Team C: e-Learning Laboratories Team • To design and install two e-learning laborites each with 20-30 sets of computers • Team Leader: Dr. YC Wu
Team D: On-line Learning Course Preparation Team • To prepare and operate the on-line learning course target to be conducted in September 2009 • We also target to line up with 1 or 2 primary school in Hong Kong to arrange parallel lessons between Sichuan and HK. • Team Leader: Dr. Allan Yuen (Faculty of Education)
Special team: Media and Publication Team • Mission: • To produce a series of video documentary programs for broadcasting around the campus • To publish a book to report the project – for reporting to our donors, supporters and for our own memories… • Things to be learnt: • Skills of video production, editing, special effect…etc • Team Leader: Dr. Elaine Chan, General Education Unit HKU Reconstruction Team Team A Team B Team C Team D Media and Publication Team
