LtcolArmando Gonzalez has successfully managed simultaneous logistics support enterprises on opposite sides of the globe, establishing effective global communications/coordination measures and successfully sustained dual site operations. He adapted to the unit’s expanded mission to provide additional security details for deployed forces implementing the training, organizational adjustments and policies/procedures to adapt to the new task.
From 06/11 to 6/2013, he served as the USMC representative to Bogota, Colombia. He functioned as a principal advisor to the Colombian Navy and Marine corps service chiefs covering functional areas including: plans, policies, operations, doctrine, training, equipment, logistics and communications. He developed, implemented and carefully managed a $15 million dollar budget too train/equip Colombian forces.
Owing to his skills and dedication towards his work, LtcolArmando Gonzalez has received several awards and honors in his career. Some of his main accomplishments include Colombian Marines service medal for support to Colombian Marine forces (07/11-07/13), US Defense Meritorious Service Medal as a USMC Rep to Colombia (07/11-07/13), Admiral Stanley R. Arthur award (2006) for logistics excellence for the Evacuation of U.S. Citizens from Lebanon through Cyprus and more.
