Candidates for Virginia 4-H Cabinet Jake Buonomo Morgan Eppard 2012-2013 Candidates for Northern District Ambassador • Has been very active in the local 4-H horse club and teen leader club • Has served as a teen leader at summer camp and held the office of treasurer in the local horse club • Feels a leader must know when to delegate to get the most out of a situation • Has become comfortable with parliamentary procedure through proper usage at the local club meetings • Has worked with the local club at horse rescue barns as part of his community service work • Has been a member and officer in five local 4-H clubs • Feels 4-H has allowed her “bookworm” personality to learn and grow to be active in her community • Has attended numerous parliamentary procedure workshops and taught simplified lessons to younger youth • Feels that the volunteer work she has done locally has defined her as a person • States good leadership means knowing when to take charge and when to step back
Candidates for Virginia 4-H Cabinet Ivana Marshall Lauren Jones 2012-2013 Candidates for Southeast District Ambassador • Has served the local community as a camp counselor and 4-H local ambassador • Believes a leader has the influence to get others to believe what they say and follow them • Has competed in local and district public speaking competitions and will be in the Radio Spot competition this year • Has participated in a district leadership retreat learning about parliamentary procedure • Has served as an officer of numerous community and school clubs and councils • Has promoted 4-H at the local Board of Supervisors meeting • Believes 4-H is an organization that teaches leadership, teamwork and broadens minds and horizons • Has served as an officer in the local 4-H club and the local Girl Scout Troop • Believes service is another word for “help” and ranges from fundraising to getting hands dirty • Believes teamwork requires you to deal with different kinds of people requiring an open mind and patience

Candidates for Virginia 4-H Cabinet Spencer Gee Raekwon Moore 2012-2013 Candidates for Southwest District Ambassador • Has been a 4-H member for 7 years • Believes that leadership means being a person willing to take charge of situations • Shares teamwork is only achieved when a group of people work together successfully and get along well • Has participated in public speaking and presentations on the local, district and state level • She volunteers for the local public library every Thursday as a part of her local community service work • Feels that 4-H programs teach youth about teamwork, responsibility and leadership • Has been a 4-H member for 6 years and has represented his unit at city council meetings • Believes leadership is being able to lead and communicate with other to create a vision • Has been a leader in the local and regional FBLA, participating in public speaking competitions and leadership conferences • He thinks community service means being able to support and lift up other just as they have supported you, not just those who are in need
Candidates for Virginia 4-H Cabinet Imani Moore Ryan Nolen 2012-2013 Candidates for Southwest District Ambassador • Has been a 4-H member for 8 years working with the local environmental club • Believes leadership is being able to keep whatever you are tending on track • Feels a good leader can incorporate other’s ideas with their own but also share why some ideas may not be good • Feels teamwork means everyone brings their ideas and perspectives so there is always something new • Feels service is giving back to your community and helping others that are less fortunate • Believes 4-H provides a safe environment for youth to learn and lets youth expand their base of responsibility and independence • Has been an officer and leader in local school clubs and organizations as well as served as a camp counselor • Has been a 4-H member for 7 years • He feels teamwork follows the saying “there is no ‘I’ in team” • Has continued volunteer and community service work in 4-H as well as a service group to raise funds for starving Africans
Candidates for Virginia 4-H Cabinet Nick Denton Abigail Daniels 2012-2013 Candidates for Southwest District Ambassador • Has been a 4-H member for 6 years and feels 4-H promotes agriculture education and leadership to youth • Has made presentations to the local Board of Supervisors and participated in the 4-H presentations contest • Has learned parliamentary procedure through 4-H Congress attendance and personal reading • He believes teamwork means “there is wisdom in a multitude of counselors”, being one of six siblings, he learns on a daily basis • He has volunteered locally working for the Salvation Army and the local food bank • Has been a 4-H member for 6 years and was inspired by a competition with her brother of developing their leadership abilities • She feels leadership is benefitting your group in a cooperative way • Has competed in local, district and state public speaking and presentation events • Has participated in numerous local community service projects including “Back Packs Unite”, a food for children program and a local tornado clean/up restoration project • Has served as SCA president at the local middle school as well as a camp counselor
