Focus of the module • Semester One • To give students the opportunity to develop their knowledge and understanding of topical issues in advanced finance & investment; • To give students the analytical tools required for advanced financial decision making in capital markets; and • Semester Two • To give students the opportunity to practice investment and portfolio management in trading room • Working in teams

  4. Assessment • One exam at the beginning of Semester two (50%) • A group project (30%) • Report on the group investment and portfolio management project (team size 3-5) • An individual essay (20%) • Self-reflection on the process of investment and portfolio management project

  5. Core text / key reading • Bodie, Kane and Marcus, Investments, McGraw Hill, (6th, 7th, 8th or 9th edition)
