Building Your Spiritual House
Bible Use of a House Matt 7:24-27 24 "Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. 26 Now everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: 27 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall."
Bible Use of a House Heb 3:3-4 3 For this One has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as He who built the house has more honor than the house. 4 For every house is built by someone, but He who built all things is God.
Bible Use of Building Gal 2:18 18 For if I build again those things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor. Rom 15:20 20 And so I have made it my aim to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build on another man's foundation,

Building Your Spiritual House I. Must Have A Plan
Must Have A Plan • Image starting a house – with no idea of the size, style, how arranged. • Some try to build spiritual house without a plan: • No idea of “finished product” (what want to be) • No idea what they have or what they need. • Merely go to worship – do little more about their spiritual life (cf. 2 Cor. 13:5)
A Plan • What you want to be: • Strong / mature (2 Pet. 1:5-10) • Knowledgeable (Heb. 5:11-12) • An example (1 Tim. 4:12; Tit. 2:10) • More acceptable (2 Cor. 5:9; 2 Pet. 3:18) • Must be realistic • Flexible(willing to change where can improve)
Begin with a vision of what an “ideal” Christian would be Col. 1:9-12 9 For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; 12 giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. • Filled with knowledge • Walk Worthy • Strong
