Science Binder & Journal Importance Binderincludes a daily Table of Contents, AND all handouts and lab sheets given during the entire unit DailyJournalincludes dates, lab partners, names of activities, materials used, illustrations, procedures, conclusions, and reflections Neatness and organization of BOTH their Binder & Journal will be of upmost importance! Lost binders or journals will need to be recreated after school.
Homework Expectations • Review Science Journal and Binder weekly for at least 10-15 minutes • Log onto my Teacher Website for the day’s homework assignments: www.jkinley.d41teachers.org • Check Parent email daily for latest updates, reminders, review slideshows, and behavior status of your science student • Contact me with any questions or concerns at: jkinley@d41.org
I strongly encourage you to visit the Pinnacle online parent viewer for GRADES on a regular basis with your student. Grades will be updated weekly
Parent Viewer • This will open on September 17th • You are receiving a confidential letter that contains directions on how you can access information about your student’s grades. • Please share the password you create with your student, so that they may freely access their grades at home or at school.
Standards-Based Grading 98% or higher = A (Advanced achievement) 85%-97% = M (Meeting the Illinois learning standard being assessed) 70-84% = P (Progressing to meet the standard being assessed) 69% or lower = NM (Mot Meeting)
