  1. Abbreviated Autobiography Writing Activity • Directions: This is the age of IM, texting, and Twitter. To capture the spirit of the moment, write the story of your life (your “abbreviated autobiography”) in 150 words. Here is my story as an example: Born in July, Cancer through-and-through, at Ft. Benning, GA. I made Virgil and Juanita parents 5 times. Brothers Billy, Dave, and Dan and sisters Pat and Diane make family of 8. Good childhood. Travel, travel, always moving with something to learn. Dad retires from Army, moved back to GA. Typical teenage stuff, everyone survived. Lived everywhere. Germany, New York, Panama Canal Zone. Beach summers, AP English, Mrs. Timpano, respect/admire/reason I’m a teacher. Hmmm..off to Columbus State to learn about psychology, become a Cougar, a million cherished memories. Served my country, proud to be a veteran. Airborne! Love, marriage, and two beautiful children. New career..banking and lots of travel and 12 years of long hours. Grad school? UVA. Teaching? Maybe, and off to GSU, a Panther. New beginnings and tearful endings. CGHS becomes home. Heart bigger than ever. Husband + children+ granddaughter + siblings = home and love.
