Exporting Email to PST • While your name is highlighted, from the Main Menu, click on “File”, then click on “Import and Export” 6/9/2014 8:28 AM
Exporting Email to PST • When the Import and Export Wizards appear, click on “Export to a file” and click on “Next” • When the Export to a File screen appears, click on Personal Folder File (.pst) and click on “Next”
Exporting Email to PST • Ensure that your name is highlighted and place a check mark inside the box next to the statement ”Include subfolders”, click on “Next” • When the export Personal Folders screen appears, click on “Browse” to go to your PST (W) Drive
Exporting Email to PST • The default might be a little different, but click on “More” and then Click on “Computer” and then click “OK”
Exporting Email to PST • Find the Drive that shows your name and PST as shown above and double click to open it
Exporting Email to PST • Give your PST a name that matches your AKO name. In this example, the name is nec.migration.test. If it was from my mailbox, or would be bryan.e.myers. The name should be the same as your mailbox alias name. Click on “OK”
Exporting Email to PST • Export Personal Folder screen appears. It will give you a chance to confirm the path of your personal folder. Next click on “Finish” • Create Microsoft Personal Folders screen appears, the Name should be the same as you did on the previous screen. Once you are finish typing your name, click on “OK”
Exporting Email to PST • You will see your mailbox archiving your mail as seen in the example to the left. The dialogue box will disappear once the archiving is completed. The amount of time for archiving to be completed is determined by the amount of mail in your mailbox. Once this is completed, you should look around in your office and say “I am the Man or I am the Woman”
Check Before Deleting Emails • Now that you have already archived your mailbox, and before you delete any items. You need to verify that everything your Archived is there. While in your inbox, click on “File” click on “Open” and select “Outlook Data File”
Check Before Deleting Emails • The Open Outlook Data File screen appears, double click on “Computer” to access the drives you were mapped too.
Check Before Deleting Emails • Find the drive that is labeled with your name and PST as show above, double click it to open it and access the content of your PST drive.
Check Before Deleting Emails • Highlight the PST that you created earlier and click on “OK”
Check Before Deleting Emails • You will notice your PST listed in your Folder List. You will now verify that the data you archived is the same as what’s in your inbox.
Check Before Deleting Emails • This screen is an example of all of the items in your inbox that was archived. Again you will look around in the office and say “I am the man or I am the Woman” and I need my SA credentials
Check Before Deleting Emails • Once everything has been verified, click on one message inside your inbox that is located on the Server. With one item highlighted, click on Ctrl A to highlight all of the messages in your Inbox as shown to the left.
Check Before Deleting Emails • Click on CTRL D to permanently delete all message in your Inbox. Click on “Yes” to confirm the deletion • If you have item in Enterprise Vault, when it asks you to delete the items and the shortcut, you MUST SELECT "SHORTCUTS ONLY”
Check Before Deleting Emails • Your Inbox is now empty, you must do this for subfolder that you may have. • ****Do not delete your calendar items. We would delete that as a last resort.
All Emails Deleted • As you can see to the left, all of the subfolders are empty as well.
After Migration • If everything failed in the morning, to access your mail through the web, go to https://web.mail.mil Click on the “I Accept”
After Migration • Choose a digital certificate screen comes up, ensure you select “DOD Email CA” and click on “OK” • Enter you normal CAC PIN and click on “OK”. I am not provisioned yet so my mailbox does not appear. Once you migrate and provisioned, your mailbox will appear.
Import PST • While inside your new DISA mailbox, click on “File”, then “Import and Export”
Import PST • When the Import and Export Wizards appear, ensure “Import from another program or file” is selected and click on “Next” • Scroll down and select “Personal Folder File (.pst)” and click on “Next”
Import PST • When the Import Personal Folders screen appears, ensure you select the radio button that says “Do not import duplicates” and click on Browse
Import PST • Double click on “Computer”
Import PST • Double click on your PST drive where you have your PST located.
Import PST • Highlight your PST name and make sure PST is shown in the ‘File name” below. Click on “Open”
Import PST • Ensure the “Do not import duplicates” radio button is selected and click on “Next” • On the Import Personal Folders screen, make sure the “Include subfolders” box is selected and the “Import items into the same folder in” circle is selected and click on “Finish”
Import PST • You will see your data importing into your mailbox. Wait until this screen totally disappears.
Done Importing PST • You should now have all of your mail back into your mailbox. You will then say: “I am the Man”, or “I am the Women” .You are finished!
