Final Call Comments • Had a final call on -01- version • Good support on the mailing list • Major comments received on • PPP Access Circuit Procedures • Some ID nits • Some clarifications • IP TLV
PPP Access Circuit • Clarification on use of IPCP • to obtain local CE’s IP address • to proxy for Remote CE’s IP address • Comments on PPP options • Thanks to Carlos Pignataro and Mark Lewis with their comments, clarifications and revised text.
IP TLV • ARP Mediation uses Pseudowire of type “IP Layer2 Transport” or in short IP PW. • When signaling for this PW, ARP-Mediation also need to convey local CE’s IP address to remote PE in LDP’s Label Mapping and Notification message • ARP meditation defines parameters that is inserted in “optional parameter” field of the Label Mapping and Notification • In order to facilitate signaling of such parameters, Propose 0x096B from LDP’s TLV Type Name Space for IP TLV • Also need LDP status code point from IANA to report update of CE’s IP address in LDP’s Notification message. Propose 0x00000029 from LDP’s Status Code Name Space
Label Mapping Msg • 1 0 IP = 0x096B Length • CE’s IP Address 0 0 Generic Label Length (0x0200) PW Label Proposed TLV Notification 0 Notification Msg Len PW FEC PW FEC Message Type Status (TLV) Code=0x00000029 IP TLV Optional Parameter Field PW FEC IP TLV
Conclusion • Send Request to MPLS WG to review IANA code point assignments • Propose submitting the draft for IESG review
