  1. Myths About The Bible The Bible Can’t Be Understood

  3. We cannot understand the Bible alike • Everyone has their own interpretation • We do not want to become legalists like the Pharisees • You can prove anything by the Bible

What Does The Bible Say? • Mysteries are to be understood (Mk. 4:11) • Ephesians 3:1-6 • 1 Corinthians 2:6-16 • Profitable through understanding (2 Tim. 3:16-17) • Source of faith (Rom. 10:17) • Written to be believed (Jn. 20:30-31) • The example of Bereans (Acts 17:10-12) • Studied to verify what they heard • Then they believed in what they understood All of this is possible only if understood

  5. The Amazing Bible • It is for everyone everywhere (Mk. 16:15) • At any level (Heb. 5:12-14) • For any cultural divide (Gal. 3:28)

  6. Why People Do Not Understand The Bible • Some don’t want to understand it (Matt. 13:10-17) • They have/had the opportunity • However, they simply refuse • Some would rather follow men than God’s word (Matt. 15:1-9)

  7. Answering The Excuses • We cannot understand the Bible alike • Paul says differently (1 Cor. 1:10) • Everyone has their own interpretation • No one has such a luxury(2 Peter 1:20-21)

  8. We do not want to become legalists like the Pharisees • The Pharisees were not legalists • It cannot be proven that is the problem with the Pharisees • They were not following the law too much or too strictly • Cf. Matthew 15:3, 6, 9 • We will only become disciples by believing (Jn. 8:31)

  9. You can prove anything by the Bible • No one has the right to twist the Scriptures to suit some purpose (Rev. 22:18-19)
