HART 2019 Safety Success Goals • With input from the staff and the Board of Directors, HART identified the top five outcome goals for 2019 including safety. • The high-level goals envisioned for a successful year are referred to as outcome goals that essentially complete this statement: “HART will know it has been an exceptional year if...”
Safety & Security Program Overview: • What HART Has Done and Is Doing Today Objective • Over the Road, in Our Transit Centers, In Our Community • Partnership with Tampa Police Department patrol program in downtown. • HD Transit vehicle camera retrofit increasing total number for 5 to 11 with real time information and live look in feature, including audio • Security awareness monitors in all HART revenue vehicles • InstalledCisco security cameras at HART Ybor Administrative office, with installation at Marion Transit Center (MTC) in July 2019 and the University Area Transit Center (UATC) in September 2019 • Enhanced security guards from Level 1 to Level 5 Armed (Expanded Coverage at Transit Centers with Law Enforcement and military experience requirement including additional mobile patrols)
Safety & Security Program Overview: What HART Has Done and Is Doing Today Objective • Training & Education • Instituted Mandatory Quarterly Safety and Security Training for all operators • Revised bus operator training program in coordination with University of South Florida Center for Urban Transportation Research to offer first-in-class curriculum that includes best practices from Transportation Safety Institute, National Transit Institute, FEMA, DHS, and Smith System • All transit supervisors have taken National Incident Management System (NIMS) training from the Emergency Management Institute of FEMA
