“Junior program” Why 7-a-side? • allow players to have more time on the ball and they become more skillful with it, which then increases the technical proficiency of the players. • allow players to make more, less-complicated decisions during the game which is good for tactical development. • The reduced field size teaches the player to be physically efficient in the field space she is playing. • Less players on the field and in the teams allows the players to have more individual teaching time with the coach.
“Junior program” Why 7-a-side? • Small sided games allow players to have more, involved playing time in the game and this helps them to solve problems that only a game presents. • Small sided games allow players more opportunity to play on both sides of the ball and this gives them more exposure to attacking and defending. There is increased 1v1 and 2v1 encounters in both attacking and defending situations. • In small sided games there are more opportunities to • score and this makes it fun and exciting for young • players.
