Admissions Requirements Effective Fall 2005 The following is a listing of admission requirements for applicants seeking admission into the doctoral program at the Fischler School of Education and Human Services (FSEHS). • Complete and submit an FSEHS admissions application. • Submit a $50.00 non-refundable admissions application fee, payable to NSU. • Submit an official master’s degree transcript from a regionally accredited institution (a 3.0 cumulative GPA is required). -or- Submit an official course-by-course evaluation by Josef Silny & Associates, Inc. or World Education Services (Refer to Alternative Admissions Requirements).

  9. Admissions (cont’d) • Submit two professional letters of recommendation. The letters of recommendation must be provided by two different individuals who can attest to the applicant’s ability to succeed in a doctoral program. • Current employment or relevant work experience in field. • Submit a test score report showing that the applicant received a raw score of 37 (scaled score between 391-396) on the Millers Analogies Test (MAT) or a combined score of 1000 on the verbal and quantitative sections of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). If the score falls below the minimum requirement, the applicant must submit a rationale in essay format providing an explanation of why scores do not reflect the student’s academic potential. • NOTE – GRE / MAT not required for international students • Applicants who are non-native English speakers and/or applicants who earned their highest degree at a non-U.S. institution may be required to provide proof of having scored a minimum of 213 on the computer-based or 550 on the paper-based TOEFL exam.

International Sites • Jamaica: UCJ is evaluating the material • Canada: Will continue to offer the DEDL program in Vancouver until complete review sometime prior to 2007 • Dominican Republic, Korea, Mexico, Venezuela: FSEHS will obtain authorization through its own contacts in these countries.
