The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, informally referred to as ObamaCare, requires that Medicaid be reformed and expanded in order to cover more people, especially those below the poverty level; and aims to enhance community health care centers to improve the health care of those without private health insurance. • To provide answers about the Myths and Realities of ObamaCare, the San Diego Regional Alumni Group of The Drucker School and Tri-City Medical Center are proud to bring to you the following panel of experts : • Larry Anderson, CEO of Tri-City Medical Center - http://www.tricitymed.org/about-us/leadership/ • Mr. Anderson is the CEO of Tri-City Medical Center in Oceanside, California. Tri-City is a Joint Commission accredited district hospital with approximately $400 million in annual revenues, more than 2,300 employees, and a staff of 500 physicians. Mr. Anderson is credited with turning around this hospital not only financially but operationally. Tri-City is now profitable, and is a recognized national leader in robotic surgery. In addition, Mr. Anderson created a Master Facility Plan which includes the development of a new hospital facility. • Irma Cota, CEO of North County Health Services - http://www.nchs-health.org/content/irma-cota-mph • Ms. Cota is the President and CEO of North County Health Services, a non-profit community health care organization serving the north San Diego County region. Under her leadership, NCHS serves more than 60,000 patients annually at 10 clinic locations. These clinics provide comprehensive medical, dental, mental health, and health education services. Patients with Government insurances, commercial insurances and TRICARE are accepted at NCHS as well as uninsured. In addition, Ms. Cota leads a WIC program serving over 18,000 women and children, and a county-wide HIV/Case Management program. • Deborah A. Freund, President of Claremont Graduate University - http://www.cgu.edu/pages/8228.asp • Dr. Freund is the President of Claremont Graduate University. Prior to moving to CGU, she was a Distinguished Professor of Public Administration and Economics at the Maxwell School of Syracuse University and an Adjunct Professor of Orthopedics and Pediatrics at Upstate Medical University. Dr. Freund is an internationally-recognized health economist, known in particular for her research in the areas of Medicaid, health care outcomes and PharmacoEconomics, a field she is credited with founding. • Allen Sugerman, CFO of MiraMed– http:/ /www.linkedin.com/pub/allen-sugerman/14/4a7/9a • Mr. Sugerman is the Chief Financial Officer of MiraMed a global services company providing business process outsourcing solutions to healthcare organizations nationwide.
