A day at the beach… 6th graders from homerooms 16 & 18
Marcos • The golden beaming sun made me feel as if I was in a 98 degree desert running across chestnut sand, so I ran to the electric blue freezing cold water.
Brianna • As my tires rolled up on the tawny sand we saw the crystal, gleaming, turquoise ocean, which made my temptations rise. As we stepped out of the car, it felt as if a dragon blew it’s melting breath on me. As I walked to the sea, I saw a thirst-quenching lemonade stand. It made my mouth pour a river.
Precious • The day at the beach was delightful I went with Gabby, Angela, Shaughnessy and my family. We arrived at the beach at 5:00. It was a foggy morning, but became a sunny day. We got out of the electric blue Corvette, ran into the sticky, teak colored sand, where I stepped on a seashell. I screeched! But then we saw the beautiful cooling sapphire sea. That day was the best.
Luna • It was a hot day at the beach. The heat was pounding at me like a boxer. I sat on a smooth ash rock as I dipped my feet in the royal blue water. I felt relaxed. A crab came out of the speckled sand and looked around in curiosity. The waves splashed on the shore, creating fair foam. I laid on my lilac towel and started on the tan. “This is the life,” I said, and the sun smiled on me.
Shaughnessy • As soon as I stepped on the humid beach, my feet started to burn. The rust-like sand was very hot because the golden sun stared down on it. I felt so noxious from the salty water that my friends Precious, Gabriela, and Angela had to get me bottles of water from the concession stand. After I napped, lots more people were there, and food sizzled on the grill.
Gabriela • On our way to the beach, I could feel sweat coming down my face just like a tear. When I got out of the car, I felt humid and sticky because the heat was so intense- it felt like my flip-flops were cooking on a grill. When we found a place to rest, I rushed to the salty aquamarine water and floated there looking at the beautiful evergreen palm trees.
Brittany • The gold sun blazed on us as if we were in a desert. Soon, I glided my feet through the flush chestnut sand to dive into the soothing azure water.
Angela • The midnight blue shining water was encouraging me to jump in, but the noxious smell of the salty water made me sick. That day the sizzling tawny sand made me very sweaty and sticky. Splashing in the water was very refreshing, almost breathtaking.
Shaly • The royal blue sky was like seeing Heaven. The water was so dark that I thought it was an abyss: I could not see the bottom of the sea.
Daniel • The gilt sun beamed over me. I went into the azure sea. The chilly water refreshed me and cooled me down.
Brayan • It was a hot day of 95 degrees. My family was planning to go to the beach, and we did. When I got out of the car and touched the sand it was the attack of the burning sand! The sand’s color was blanched peach. I took my shirt off and jumped in the aquamarine water. The water was icy cold when I got in, almost like an abyss- it felt like it was bottomless. But when I put on my goggles, I saw the bottom, just way deep.
Jalauna • When I saw my mom in her colorful swimsuit, I knew that were taking a trip to the humid and exciting beach. When were got there I viewed a lot of umbrellas and towels with marbled colors. In the water, I felt like I was floating in air.
Isaiah • When the sand burned my feet, I jumped into the pool. There was intense heat.
Iyana • Waves pushing and kids yelling- that’s all I could hear on this saltwater smelling day. The sand is between my toes and jellyfish were all over the beach. What a peculiar day.
Elizabeth • When I was at the beach, the sand was so hot it felt like I was running on top of rocks that were on fire. The water was nice and cold and I could see boats from miles away. When I got out of the water, I was so thirsty that when I saw the lemonade stand, my mouth watered.
Ruby • The royal sky was like seeing beautiful Heaven. The water was like an abyss, the bottom was so deep. The sand was burning and I was jumping up and down, all the way to the water. The water was warm until I got deeper, then it was colder.
Alisha • While I was at the beach, the sand was rough but smooth between my toes. The ocean was cerulean blue and felt like it disappeared into my hand.
Elijah • On the last day of summer, my family and I went to the beach in the 95 degree weather to eat seafood on the beach and swim.
Jana • At the humid, hot beach, we stayed from daylight till sundown just to look at the magnificent tawny stars. In daytime we ate peanut butter, ham, and chicken until we got full. When it came to midnight, we laid our blankets on the chestnut sand. While looking at the stars, we saw Pluto and Mars. When people started falling asleep, we decided it was time to go home.
Jonathan • My family and I went to the golden beach where almost everybody was there. The golden sun, the indigo ocean, the dusky fish… It was all good. I went in the sky blue ocean because it was dazzlingly hot.
Jennifer • On the great peach, gold, lemony day at the beach, we all had a delightful picnic at the amazing day at the beach.
Miles • On the humid day at the beach, I collected fossil rocks that looked exotic. Then a humongous group of people started to come in on their boogie boards and were crowding me. After the extremely long day, we felt exhausted so we lay on a comfortable bed.
Yesenia • I see sand and I made a sandcastle. I hear people splashing in the waves. When it is too hot, I don’t go outside because then my stomach starts to hurt.
Andrea • At the beach, in the golden sand I was burned by the flaming sun. I was toasted as burned as black bread: I couldn’t get up to go to the salty, shallow water where it was cold enough. When I landed in the flaming sand, I wanted to go into the indigo ocean. I was like a chocolate cookie, burnt from the oven.
Miguel • When I got to the beach the sun was flaming hot and the water was refreshing cold.
Giovanni • Because it was a great day out, the sun was so bright it felt like flames were buffeting my face. The sun gave me a sunburn and I was a wine-red color. I saw a sky-blue sea, and the golden-yellow fish were swimming away because of the children running.
Kendall • On the humid day at the beach, I gazed at the sparkling ocean. The slate clouds surrounded the flame sunset.
Alicia • The exotic sunset was so beautiful it made me cry.
Devin • It was a steamy hot day, and we were on the beach for 12 hours. We surfed on the waves and splashed in the water. We all got sunburns and it felt like knives on my back. I smelled hot dogs cooking in the restaurant across the street.
Jazmyn • One humid day at the beach I was collecting shells in the peach-orange colored sand. I saw cranberry red lime green and electric blue shells. I saw magenta purple swimsuits. The sun was flaming red and I got a cocoa sunburn.
