HEDDA GABLER According To Ibsen • Location: Christiania, Norway. • Time period:1890s • Characters: 8 Characters including • George Tesman, the new husband • Hedda Gabler/Tesman, the protagonist. • Miss Juliana Tesman, the aunt-in-law. • Mrs. Elvsted, the old school mate. • Judge Brack, the judge. • Eilert Lovborg, the former lover and new business competition. • Berta, the servant.

  4. Concept Statement • Living in the 1950’s in Baltimore Hedda Gabbler is a woman with strong expectations of herself and the life she wants. Unlike her progressive attitude of herself and what a woman can be, her society and social castrates tell her other wise. Fighting that internal and external force Ibsen's play comes to life
