  2. Distribution in nature Most of monoterpenoid indole alkaloids is localized in three families of dicotyledon plants: Apocynaceae（夹竹桃科） (genera Alstonia, Aspidosperma, Rauwolfia and Catharanthus), Rubiaceae（茜草科）(Corynanthe) and Loganiaceae（马钱科）(Strychnos).
