Academia Outreach Goals and Objectives • Raise Awareness of the Chapter to our local education community • Promote PMI and PMICIE’s values/benefits • Increase partnership and collaboration with our local education community • Help fulfill PMI and PMICIE mission of advancing Project Management Profession

Recent Activities/Accomplishments: • Finalized 2014 Strategic Plan • One-time free student pass approved by BOD • Revamped Presentation Material • Participated in the APICS Symposium • Joined the DeVry Industry Advisory Board • Delivered on site student presentations: • University of Redlands – Rancho Cucamonga Campus • University of Redlands – Temecula Campus

Short Term Goals • Re-engage with existing contact base • Deliver Chapter presentation on an ongoing basis • Use survey to collect feedback & follow-up with those expressing an interest to join • Establish new contacts/partnerships by: • Continuing to attend outreach events (ex. APICS) • Present outreach goals/objectives • Explore ideas with contacts, find out what their needs are • Increase volunteer base • Continue to provide discounted rates of PMP workshops to students who are on a PM Career Path

  8. Long Term Goals • Help students form on-site Project Manager forum • Offer Student Scholarships • Provide a Virtual Mentor Program • Establish PMICIE presence at student job fairs/career days

  9. Next Steps: • Initial meeting with Professor Harold Dyck on July 10th of CSUSB • Meeting with Michael Toothman of UCR Pending • Meeting with Ray Heath of Cal Poly Pomona (Student of ATOMS Club) Pending • Develop post presentation survey to get student feedback and collect contact information

Open Volunteer Service Positions • Professional Development Director • Average Hrs per month = 10, Yearly PDUs = 15 • Responsibilities • Provide information to members and nonmembers on career development and PMP certification • Coordinate the chapter’s external educational activities, such as seminars, workshops, courses, and professional development days
