4. Project Summary The goal of The Indiana Tree Project is to increase planting of hardwood trees in state forests so Indiana can benefit:
Environmentally (water, soil, wildlife, air and more)
Economically
Aesthetically
Recreationally
The Indiana Tree Project is a 5 year initiative:
We want to plant 1 million trees by 2016
Indianas bicentennial!
5. Project Summary The Indiana Tree Project is a joint initiative of:
Indiana Natural Resources Foundation
Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Division of Forestry
Citizens of Indiana
Donating a tree costs just $10, and goes toward:
- Purchasing tree - Initial maintenance of planting site
- Acquiring land - Administration costs
- Planting sapling
The Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Division of Forestry will plant and manage these sites
