UL cooperation in HORIZON 2020 With the amount of more than 13 mio € of EU contribution University of Ljubljana (which contributes almost half of the research results in Slovenia) is among the leadingorganisations in Slovenia. 56 approved H2020 projects

Mobility of Researchers –HR Excellence in Research From 2008, the University of Ljubljana is committed to respect the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for Recruitment of Researchers in its strategy for the development of researchers’ careers. The commitment is worded in the UL Strategy for Researchers’ Career Development for the Period 2012-2016 and the Action plan. As a result of its efforts UL received the right to use the logo HREXCELLENCE IN RESEARCH in 2013 and successfully carried out internal evaluation in 2015. External evaluation is expected in 2017.
Reccomendations for FP9 • More funding for research in FP9 • More buttom up research (no predefined topics) in all pillars covering also basic science • More two stage calls • More small – middle sized projects • Introdution of the possibility of shared coordinatorship • Separated calls for upper TRLs • Dissemination of research results to Higher education as one of the core demands of dissemination&communication activities • Improved Widening instrument
Reccomendations for SPREADING EXCELLENCE and WIDENING instrument • More money for TEAMING, TWINNING and ERA CHAIRS; • Support of Excellence: Funding of excellent ERC proposals from Widening countries that go to the second step of review but are finaly not funded through ERC budget; • Additional budget for MSCA IFs for the host organisations from widening countries; • Support for development of Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) strategies and practices in organisations from Widening countries together with the most excellent European institues and HE organisations;
