  2. Once upon a time in a swamp not so far away, lived

  3. Greta & Lester Gator.

  4. Greta was such a flirt! She would bat her long eyelashes at Lester and blow him kisses!

  5. Well that made Lester fall in LOVE!

  6. Every day, Greta and Lester would swim through the swamp and look for things to eat.

  7. Lester was a gentleman. He knew that Greta only liked to eat things that were on the left side. So when the most food was on the left, he let her have it.

  8. Greta thought Lester was so polite, and she didn’t want to be a greedy gator. So when the most food was on the right, she let Lester have it.

  9. One day, they found some food. It looked like a whole family had been on a picnic and forgot to pick up their food!

  10. They swam over to the first blanket of food.

  11. On the left side, there were 2 stacks of 10 hamburgers and 3 pieces of candy. On the right side, there were 1 stack of 10 hamburgers and 2 pieces of candy. Since the greater amount of food is on the left, Greta ate the food! 23 12

  13. Then they swam over to the second blanket of food.
