What We Need from You • ACTIVE Participation in monthly FoodWIse PSE webinars • Zoom has great video and microphone capabilities, let’s use them! • Polls, quizzes, & breakout discussions • Anonymous (if you want) feedback! • End of course evaluation • Via Google form • Complete 1 Cornell module per month (1-3 hours) • Workbook activities associated with the module of the month • Still need a bound copy of the workbook? Module 1: What to Expect • Estimated time to complete: 1-2 hours • Do not have to complete all in one sitting • Delivery format is self guided and includes: • Videos • Articles • Downloadable activities and resources • Practice quiz • Graded quiz • Must pass, but can complete as many times as you wish • Google Form to ask questions, make comments, or request information for next webinar

Introduction to PSE • Traditionally, public health efforts have been aimed at individual-level health changes. • Minimally effective, costly, and difficult to sustain. • Individual lifestyle choices are only one part of our ability to live healthy, productive lives. • PSE change uses a socio-ecological model, recognizing that individuals and their behavioral choices are situated within and influenced by their broader social and environmental context. • The choices we make are shaped by the choices we have.
