  4. Push America Mission • Building leaders of tomorrow by serving people with disabilities today. Vision • Push America will change the way society views both people with disabilities and fraternities. Values • Abilites, Teamwork, Empathy and Integrity

  5. Push America • Nonprofit organization that serves people with disabilities. • Founded in 1977 by Thomas Sayre. • Founded as the national philanthropy of Pi Kappa Phi. With the purpose of instilling lifelong service in its members and enhancing the quality of life for people with disabilities. • Remains the exclusive philanthropy of Pi Kappa Phi with the purpose of instilling lifelong service in our fraternity members and serving people with disabilities.

  6. Facts • To date, Push America has raised over $15 million to benefit people with disabilities and organizations dedicated to their service.

  7. Events • Build America • Gear Up Florida • Journey of Hope • Regional Construction Events

  8. Build America • 6 week team event traveling the country promoting accessible recreation for people with disabilities. • Construction of accessible environments and camps serving the disability community. • Examples: fishing piers, nature trails, climbing walls, and many more projects. • The team will log over 4,000 man hours • Team members gather with campers for dinner and other camp activities.

  9. Gear Up Florida • Each Year the team raises $80,000 to benefit people with disabilities. • 800 mile cycling event that kicks off in Miami travels through the state of Florida and concludes at the state capital in Tallahassee. • Spreads the message of acceptance and understanding. • 2 weeks long

Journey of Hope • Covers 32 states, cycling 12,000 miles combined • Solely comprised of Pi Kappa Phi members • 3 different routes with 35 PKP’s on each team • Raises more than $500,000 annually • Begins in Saf Francisco (North), Los Angeles (South) and Seattle (TransAmerica) and ends together in Washington DC • Raises funds and awareness for people with disabilities • 75 miles per day • At the end of each day they have friendship visits with a local group that supports people with disabilities
