Draft TVET Policy Review ◊Support the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training to review the TVET Policy ◊Facilitate stakeholders’ participation in the review: Employers and Trade Unions organisations; Development partners and NGOs 2
Enhance capacity of non-state actors to engage in TVET ◊Provide support to carry out a rapid assessment of TVET from Trade Unions perspective and sensitization of workers on TVET of relevance to improving productivity
Institutional support to VETA and NACTE ◊Support development of bridging course modules that will enable VET graduates to progress from National Vocational Award (NVA) level III to National Technical Award (NTA) level IV. Target courses: Mechanical/Automative and Electricity ◊Support development of 5 occupational standards & CBET curricula for VET training
UNDAP 2011 ◊Support establishment of institutional structures to support Labour market information system (LMIS) ◊ Support review existing sector training policies & Science and Technology policy ◊Support baseline studies on informal and formal apprenticeship training in Tanzania
UNDAP -Entrepreneurshipeducation • ILO through the Youth Entrepreneurship Facility will provide support to entrepreneurship education in secondary schools.

Opportunities • ILO has recruited a Skills development specialist to provide technical support. • The initiatives have been incorporated into VETA strategic plans.
